Brookwood Chorus News - Welcome back!

Brookwood Chorus Students and Families,
 
It has been such a delight to see our new Chorus Broncos this week!  We have had a great first two days of school, and I am looking forward to what we'll be able to accomplish together this school year!

A few notes: 

• The last day to order Braves tickets in our section is 11:59pm on August 9, 2024. The shirt order deadline was extended, but has past at this point. Remember, all singers must have our performing t-shirt for the Braves game.

• All chorus students are required to pay the $38 Chorus Dues.  Chorus dues payment can be made here.  Deadline:  August 31, 2024.  This is a one time annual payment.  Chorus dues cover sheet music, accompanist fees, LGPE fees, and this year’s 2024-2025 Brookwood Chorus T-shirt.  Dues are held in the chorus account by the Brookwood Performing Arts Booster Association.  Your shirt will not be released unless you have turned in your dues. Please note that it is not the intention of the director to deny any student entry into chorus because of an inability to meet this financial requirement. A family who is unable to make the required payment by the deadline must address this with the director in confidence. 

 

• Would you like to sponsor another student's dues?  Please write "sponsor" in the name field.  Thank you!

 

• The Brookwood Performing Arts Booster Association (BPAB) assists the chorus through volunteers and financial support. BPAB encourages everyone to become a member and provide additional support to the choral program.  BPAB is an invaluable resource of parent volunteers that assists the chorus program.  When you join BPAB as a member and donate, you are able to access additional benefits and recognition!  Please contact Mr. Still or [email protected] with questions.  Does your company do a corporate match for non-profits?  Please reach out to us, and we can help you get set up!  You can also donate dues for other students.  Learn more about BPAB:  bpaperforms.com  The donation link is made available here.

 

• Chorus formal uniform requirements & purchase details are available here. All uniforms will be purchased via our supplier's online store, which will be specific for Brookwood Chorus.  The deadline to place orders is August 25, 2024.  I am in need of a parent to help with measurements - please email me if you are able to assist with in-class measuring.  

• Optional chorus spirit wear is available through August 25!  Click here to order.

 

• The syllabus is available here and on eClass.   Students are required to submit acknowledgement of the syllabus via Google Classroom - link to Google Classroom is posted on eClass.

   

• Concert dates are listed in the syllabus.  Please make note of them and add to your calendar.  You can also access our digital calendar here!

 

• Auditions for District Honor Chorus, All-State, and Honors Chorale will begin soon.  If your student is interested, they should sign up for an afterschool audition next week. Auditions will be roughly five minutes long, and students may leave as soon as their audition is complete.  Dates & details for GMEA ensembles are available here.

• The chorus tailgate will be on the steps of the Maroon Gym Lobby on August 30, from 6-7pm. This event is free for chorus students! Chorus members will enjoy food and time to socialize before the first home football game of the year. More details for this optional event to be announced!

• Information regarding our trip to Universal Studios Orlando will be coming out soon! Look out for parent meeting information to be sent home in the next week.
